When I joined InsideView the application was in dire need of a usability overhaul and facelift, and I dove right in to redesign the overall user experience and key pages. I sat with a number of our internal Sales People to understand their tasks and overall needs as well as how they use our product to get their job done and conducted design reviews throughout the process with our product manager and other key stakeholders. Company Details Sales users research companies to qualify them, identify reasons to reach out, and to identify target contacts. Most users see this information in the context of their CRM, and it’s also available in InsideView’s app. In the original version, the UI was different in the CRM module/mash-up and InsideView. I designed a standard UI for clarity and consistency.
A year later I refreshed the UI to focus even more on the insights (smart agents) vs. data.
One of the last projects I worked on at InsideView was to lead and drive our UX designer, Senthil to redesign our Company details UI again, using images to engage users with company insights. I developed a number of concepts alongside Senthil and we reviewed them all together to identify the best possible solutions. Following is the concept I developed that is close to the chosen direction. The team is currently working through the design details.
The Company Watchlist includes the companies a user has decided to “follow” or “track” within the application. Following a company allows them to review trigger events across all companies in the standalone product, and receive email alerts daily or weekly to stay on top of events that sales people can use to identify sales opportunities and relevant conversation starters.
