InsideView Connections help sales people and other customer facing professionals find referrals to a sales or other relevant target. The connections are much more complex than other systems like LinkedIn, with three types of personal connections, connections through coworkers, previous coworkers, reference accounts and more. Because of this complexity it was imperative that our UX was clear and simple to end users who have no need to understand how we take their contacts to reveal these types of connections.
Our UI designer, Kristine, led the design and did a great job of simplifying a complicated and challenging feature that needed to support a large number of relationship visualizations. I was involved throughout the process to help set the direction of the feature and provide design feedback. The result was extremely well received by our customers. The enthusiasm for the feature led to us include the “start a conversation” feature in all other relevant areas of our application.
